School Support That Changes with the Grade, Subject and Learner.
Beyond Potential provides individualized K–12 tutoring in Calgary and online. Each request is reviewed using the learner’s grade, subject, current topic, learning goal and the kind of support that would be useful.
Important subject limits: mathematics is supported through Grade 9. Chemistry and physics are not offered at any grade level. Other requests remain subject to tutor competence, capacity and fit.
Support Across Different Grade Bands
Academic expectations change as learners move through school. The fit review looks beyond the subject name to the actual task, course demands and support needed.
Elementary Learning
Requests may involve literacy, reading comprehension, writing, foundational numeracy, social studies, general science, school routines or organization. Tutoring can help make instructions clearer, build foundational understanding and provide guided practice at a manageable pace.
Junior-High Learning
Support may focus on reading and writing, social studies, general science, mathematics through Grade 9, assignment planning, study routines and preparing for assessments. Sessions can also address foundational gaps that make current work harder to understand.
High-School Learning
Most non-mathematics high-school subjects can be considered after the course and current topic are reviewed. Support may include English and writing, social studies, selected other subjects, assignment planning and exam preparation. Mathematics above Grade 9, chemistry and physics are outside the offered scope.
A broad range of possible requests does not mean every subject, course or learner need is accepted automatically. Confirming fit protects the learner from beginning with support that is outside the tutor’s current competence or the boundaries of tutoring.

What K–12 Tutoring May Include

Tutoring supports learning. It does not involve completing assessed work for the learner, guaranteeing grades, diagnosing learning needs or providing therapeutic or psychological services.
What to Include in a First Enquiry
Share the learner’s grade, subject and course if applicable, the current unit or topic, the preferred online or in-person format, broad availability and a brief description of the goal. Please do not send diagnoses, assessments, school records or other sensitive learner information through the public form.
