Online Does Not Have to Look the Same for Everyone
Some learners work comfortably on screen for a full session. Others may benefit from changes in activity, printed material, handwriting away from the screen, shorter task cycles or specific accessibility supports.
The format can be adjusted around the learner and task without assuming that online tutoring is automatically better or worse than in-person support.
Privacy and Session Links
The final online-session platform must pass privacy, security, accessibility and failure-recovery requirements before live use. Session access should use controlled links rather than a permanent public room. Sessions are not recorded by default.
Do not send diagnoses, assessment reports, school records or other sensitive learner information through an ordinary booking field, calendar title or routine email unless an approved process specifically requires it.
If Technology Fails
A technical problem should not create pressure to expose information or continue through an unsafe workaround. If the session cannot continue effectively, the approved fallback, modality change or rescheduling process can be used as appropriate.
