Beyond Potential can consider tutoring requests across most K–12 subject areas. The fit review looks at the learner’s grade, course, current topic and support needs before tutoring is confirmed.
Important subject limits: mathematics is supported through Grade 9. Chemistry and physics are not offered at any grade level.
What Can Be Considered
Elementary and Junior-High Learning
Requests may involve literacy, reading comprehension, writing, social studies, general science, mathematics through Grade 9, study skills, organization and other school subjects that fall within tutoring competence.
High-School Subjects
Most non-mathematics high-school subjects can be considered after the course and current topic are reviewed. Chemistry and physics are outside the offered scope, and mathematics above Grade 9 is not accepted.
A broad subject range does not mean every request is accepted automatically. The purpose of the review is to make sure the requested work matches current competence, capacity and the kind of support the learner needs.
What Tutoring May Include
- Explaining concepts in a different way
- Guided practice and feedback
- Reading, writing and assignment-planning support
- Review for quizzes, tests and exams
- Study systems, organization and task planning
- Support using legitimate accommodations and accessible tools
Tutoring supports learning. It does not involve completing assessed work for the learner, guaranteeing grades or providing diagnostic, therapeutic or psychological services.
What to Include in an Enquiry
Share the learner’s grade, the subject and course if applicable, the current unit or topic, whether online or in-person tutoring is preferred, and a brief description of the goal. Please do not send assessments, school records or other sensitive learner information with the first enquiry.
